Summer seasons usually a huge toil on our face and body and mainly  lead to excessive sun tans, fungal infections , spreading of acnes among other ailments. This is definitely the time to be taking extra care of your face and body.

Remember Consistency is the key.


 1. Cleanse your face but don't over do it

 Even people with dry skin feels a sudden secretion of facial oils on their face which in turn clogs the pores.
The T zone of our face is the oiliest. We need to wash our face with a cleanser at least 2 times and maximum 3 times. Over doing this step will strip your skin of the essential facial oils.

2.Tone and moisturize your face

Toning and Moisturising brings out that healthy glow in our skin.
Toning your skin is essential, if you are someone who never used toner before, how is the time to add it to your beauty regime. Try choosing an alcohol free toner. A toner maintains the right pH level of your skin and keeps it at its purest state.

Recommended: Biotique Pore Tightening Toner with Himalayan Water priced at 175 INR or

Sometimes you may feel like applying Moisturisers are make you sweat a lot and therefore skipping it will be fine . Please do not do this, this step will render your face drier than before.

3. Always , always, always apply a sunscreen.
This step is not to be missed at all.
I agree applying some sunscreen makes our face sweat more.  Choose a non comedogenic sunscreen especially if you are suffering from acne.

Recommended: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock sunscreen at 199 INR or
Vlcc matte look sunscreen

4. Use a face pack / clay mask

Using a face mask during summer is most beneficial now. Profuse sweating may clog our pores and lead to blackheads or whiteheads.
Try using any face mask of your choice.
 You can even make one DIY with all homemade natural ingredients available in your kitchen.

 5. Keep applying lipbalm
To everyone who needs to hear this: Your lips need equal amount of nourishment both during summers and winters. Try using a lipbalm which has some amount of SPF in it before stepping out. Keeping your lips bare may cause then to crack even more.

The ultimate sunscreen you need this summer is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock sunscreen.

Be it Scorching Summer or Chilly winter, a good sunscreen is an essential part of everyone's vanity. Be it a man or a woman. 

Over the years I have used  multiple sunscreens of different brand like VlCC, Lakme, Oshea etc until I picked up the Neutrogena sunscreen .
I purchased the one with SPF 50.
It's also available with SPF 100.
This product totally changed the skincare game! 

Sunscreens are always thought to be greasy and pore clogging. But with Neutrogena Ultra Sheer dry touch Sunblock sunscreen, spf 50 ( dermatologically tested, formulated in USA)you won't feel you have applied a sunscreen.

NOTE: whether its scorching summer or chilly winter always remember to apply a liberal amount of sunscreen at least 10-15 mins before stepping out!

Let's move on to the detailed review:

Packaging :
The suncreen comes in a standard sized tube with minimal chances of leakage, it's totally travel friendly so you can it with you even on vacations. 

Fragrance and consistency:
The Neutrogena suncreen has a very pleasant fragrance and it has a body lotion- like consistency.  
The suncreen is very light on skin and doesn't clog pores.


Price:
30 ml retails for 199 INR.
88 ml retails for 549 INR.

How I prefer to use:
1.When I apply makeup: After toning and Moisturising my face, I apply the sunscreen. Make sure you apply this before adding a layer of primer or cc cream.

2. When I don't apply makeup: just after toning and Moisturising my face I apply a

My experience using this suncreen:

I really like how this product works, it's highly commendable! If you are someone living a tropical type climate, this is definitely for you! This Neutrogena sunscreen leaves your face with a pleasant fragrance and a non oily,  healthy look  and doesn't even feel heavy on skin. 

My skin type is combination kind and it's very sensitive,  prone to acne. After continuous using this for about 2 months,  I never noticed a single breakout because of this product. 

Summers are all about profusely sweating face and this product is a blessing. Neutrogena suncreen is Sweatproof, waterproof, resists rub-off which is all we need this summer! 
Whether you are actively into Water sports, a gym freak , skincare conscious,  this is for you❤

 Everytime Nivea launches a product it definitely tops the bestseller list once in a while .Its been a long a long time since Nivea has launched its deodrant roll on and has been a favourite product for millions over the world!

This product is definitely a saviour for us. It is also a best substitute for spray deodorants in case you have health problems like asthama or other breathing problems and are prohibited from using perfumes  .

 The Nivea roll on is available in many variants : protect and care, whitening, fresh beauty, pearl and natural.
I picked up the protect and care one and decided to give you a brief review on it.

Packaging:
The roll on comes in a small glass bottle and a roll on applicator on top,with a blue cap on top, won't advice you to take on your travels because it may break anytime.

Consistency:
The liquid roll on is white in colour with a very liquid consistency. It has a very pleasant fragnance which stays on for a very long time.

Price:
50 ml retails for 185 INR.




What the product claims:

  • Nivea Roll-on  provides effective and lasting protection for underarms so we can enjoy our day being carefree and confident. 
  • The roll on deodorants are gentle on the skin and leave underarms feeling soft with a long-lasting dry feeling. 
  • Nivea claims that its roll ons are alcohol free. 
  • It also claims to provide long lasting fragnance for 48 hours at a stretch.

The Nivea roll-on totally lives upto its claims.

 My experience of using this roll on:
I have been using Nivea roll ons for more than years now. It's the only brand I trust when it comes to the care of a very sensitive area of our skin. This product truly lives upto its claim. It provides complete protection to your skin and prevents odour formation. I would definitely suggest you to try this on once. You won't regret.

Using cheap hygiene roll ons may provide you with amazing fragrances but it leads to underarm darkening in the future. So definitely think before you choose and purchase  your hygiene products. Its not like any makeup products.

 Consistency:
This cc cream cream is very light weighted and won't make your skin look greasy or cakey. It's just like a cream with a mild thick consistency.

9 GM Retails for 99 INR.

 Plus points:
■Does what it claims. 
■ Provides SPF 30 
■ lightly conceals dark spots, pigmentation and even pimples
■Gives a very natural effect on the skin
■ provides glow to the king

 Downsides:
Nill

 To be very honest I did not find any flaws with this product. I have been using this product for the last 2 years religiously and did not face any problems such as rashes or irritations.

 Kama Ayurveda has already been a well known trusted brand for many years. When we see something from this brand , we already know that we can trust this. Recently I was on a holiday and decided to lodge at a Capital O hotel. They had partnered up with Kama Ayurveda and gave us some of their goodies to use. 

 This blog is going to be all about Kama Ayurveda Mandarin Vetiver 

 Packaging :
The body moisturizer comes in a small bottle with a golden coloured cap on its mouth.  It's very travel friendly so do not think twice before carrying it anywhere. There's no chance of leakage unless the bottle breaks!


Consistency :
The cream is milkish white in colour with a thick consistency. The moisturizer has a very pleasant aroma which is refreshing .



Price:
50 ml retails for 120INR.

It is exclusively manufactured for hotels and you might not find it elsewhere.

What the product claims :
  • This moisturizer contains wheat and aloe vera extracts with olive oil in its key ingredients . 
  • It also claims to have the mixture of essential oils such as Mandarin and Vetiver which in turn nourishes and hydrates the skin.


Plus points :
●the body moisturizer has a soothing effect on the skin
● the amazing and pleasant aroma is a plus point
●keeps the skin nourished for long hours.
●you won't regret buying and giving this product a try

Downsides:
●the packaging is a bit unhygienic. 
●this products is a bit costly and falls heavy on pockets.

Rating: 4.5/5

There's been quite a craze about Vaadi Herbal's products in the recent years. The Vaadi Herbal brand produces amazing products at very affordable prices. 

Before a few weeks i was online shopping where this lip balm caught my sight and I decided to pick it up and give it a try. It wasn't heavy on my pocket it. I chose the orange flavour out of the lot. And here's my honest review and result after using the lip balm.


Packaging:
The lip balm comes in a very cute and small glass tub. You have to dig in to do out balm! You can easily carry it in your pocket or even in a small purse! Go ahead use it for that extra boost of moisture and nourishment .

Consistency :
The orange balm has a relaxing and refreshing orange aroma. The lip balm has a orangish colour in it but once you apply it on your lips, you won't feel any tint on your lips. It's totally colorless no matter how much quantity you apply. 


What the lip balm claims to do:

  • We know orange has lightening and anti-oxidant properties. 
  • The product claims to moisturize and prevent your lips from chapping. 
  • The lip balm keeps the lips soft and healthy.  
  • Further orange lip balm lightens the colour of lips. People suffering from the problem of having dark coloured lips may definitely try this one out!

Experience after using this lip balm/ results:

  • It lives upto all the claims,it moisturized my lips immensely,brightened my lips , and prevented chapping.
  • I always apply this lip balm liberally before applying any lipstick or gloss,
  • I even apply this before going to bed so the next day I wake up my plump, moisturized lips.
  • The next time you see this Vaadi Herbal's lip balm at a shop make sure you pick it up from the shelf and use it.

At first let's clear all air about what an essential oil is:
☆an essential oil is typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic odour of the plant or other source from which it is extracted.

 CAUTION: NEVER USE A ESSENTIAL OIL DURECTLY ,UNDILUTED ON THE SKIN OR HAIR. IT MAY BURN THE SURFACE.

The craze about the launch of Nykaa's natural essential oils in many flavours never seems to die down . Nykaa had launched a total of 19 variants of essential oils namely - Bergamot, Rose,Rosemary, Tea tree and the list goes on... 
I had been suffering from acne problems for a few months and I thought of checking out this oil . So here's a complete honest review of the orange essential oil:

Packaging:
The Nykaa orange essential oil comes in a completely sealed small glass blue bottle (to prevent sunlight from damaging the components)and is provided with a dropper. I won't recommend to take the bottle on a travel ,there's a chance of breakage.

Consistency :
The oil runs as clear as water with a hint of orange tint in it.

Uses of orange oil:
Sweet orange oil is beneficial for maintaining the health, appearance,  and texture of the skin.
Brings back shine in the hair ,reduces dandruff and prevents  hair thinning.
The oil boosts the radiance and illuminates the skin , reducing acnes .
The strong smell of the oil works as anti-depressant and cheers up the mood. Has a calming and  uplifting aroma.

Price:
10ML/0.33OZ Retails for 350INR.

You can purchase it exclusively on the Nykaa site .


How to use the orange oil :
1.You may put a few drops in your diffuser to enjoy the calming aroma and relaxing effect of this oil.
2. A few  drops may be mixed with your favourite hair oil and add a vitamin E capsule. This mixture when applied to your scalp and hair brings wonderful results.( Use just 3-4 drops, do not exceed this limit)
3. Mix 1-2 drops with your face  moisturizer
4. You may also mix it with your favourite home made face mask .


Plus points of using this oil :
● boosts the shine of hair
●reduces dandruff problem and other scalp allergies
● improves the texture of skin
● helps in fading acne scars and pigmentations on skin
● keeps you in a refreshing mood.

Downsides :
●the cost is slightly on the expensive side when compared to the quantity provided.
●the bottle is not travel friendly.
●takes quite a long time to fade acne scars and reduce their reappearance

Rating:3.5/5
You can definitely give this oil a try if you are having existing acne scars and dandruff problems.

Nivea Soft  Tropical Fruit limited edition cream review

"NIVEA" the brand name is enough to gain our trust. Nivea has been a trusted brand for millions.  Recently the signature Nivea soft cream has launched 3 different variants recently,namely Berry blossom, Chilled mint and Tropical fruit . I decided to try out one of these interesting and refreshing variants so I picked up a tub of Tropic fruit cream. So finally here's a honest ,unbiased and non sponsored review of the cream.


Packaging
The cream comes in a strong and sturdy tub. There won't be a leakage problem and it's very much travel friendly. Slip it into your handbag for that instant dose of moisture anywhere! The only downside is that the packaging is bit unhygienic, a tube would be much more appreciated. 

Consistency 
The cream is light in texture and not thick . It is milkish white in colour.  You will find the texture same as that of the original Nivea soft cream but with a bit of added fragrance which is amazing!

What the cream claims to do
The cream is said to be non-greasy,  enriched with vitamin E and jojoba oil. 
It claims to melt into our skin leaving it fresh and soft. 
The ingredients used in the making this product will suit all skin types.


Price 
200ml for 270INR.
100ml for 160INR.


Experience of using this cream

No doubt this Nivea cream lives up to its claim. Provides required nourishment and hydration to the skin. Definitely do give this a try! You will end up loving it.



Plus points 
●provides moisture
● has a very pleasant and amazing smell
●hydration last for long hours
●Does not lead to any irritations or rashes

Downsides
●unhygienic packaging, each time you take out cream, there's a possibility of germs entering.
●might not be suitable for acnes prone skin as it contains tropical fruits.
● feels heavy on skin when used in summer.
